the IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY in New Mexican Healthcare
NMHE honors the rich traditions of New Mexico which includes distinct language needs, an acknowledgment of Tribal sovereignties, culture, and histories, our rural composition as a frontier state, and also our position as a US/Mexico border state. It is essential for this chapter to come from a place of humility, honesty, solidarity, and commitment to the state’s many cultures and compositions, and help shape healthcare that adaptly responds to the needs of our unique communities. For more information on NMHE’s commitment to this most important topic, read our statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
